Yesterday's Wine Orientation made a smooth transition into a night out at one of the 13 nations - Stockholms Nation. The whole day was a success and I will see if I can't include a picture of me and my group, Livdragonerna, any day soon. Our class, Biomedicine 2015, was namely divided into several smaller groups so that activities would be easier to arrange - and as our theme for this year was 'Military', the group names were inspired by the same theme,
Today on the other hand we had the Ceremony of Welcome at the University House in central town -and that was grand. Orchestra, speeches from the Nations, the Corporations, the Headmaster and Government officials. We also had an amazing host, the magician Johan Ståhl, so the event was really appreciated from my side. The Headmaster gave an incredibly respectful look as she walked through the Hall followed by her inferior officials and accompanied by classical music played by the orchestra at the stage. We were a couple of thousand students within the Hall at the time when the Headmaster exited. My group hurried out quite quickly when I managed to see that the Principal yet hadn't left the building but was standing at the red carpet at the entrance. I made my way down the great stairs and went up to her from her position where she waved formally to the newly arrived students - and I asked her if we could take a photo together. At first she looked a bit taken, but then she smiled and shook my hand. Wow, not many people even get close to the Principal throughout their years but I did! :D
Tomorrow it's time for me to move again after a week at this temporarily hired apartment so I better get up early. At the evening the Senior students have prepared for a movie night at the BMC for us to recover after all alcohol that has been around. We had a really cozy gathering at a meadow in the city where we talked, drank and danced our Biomed Dance. Yet another great day.
